There is a natural frequency to life that if left alone helps us be free flowing. It’s the part of life that we need not control, that does no good for us to try and control
.
When riding a wave we put our skills to the test, we have prepared as much as we can and now it is time to let go, to surrender to that natural, free flowing ability. To ride the momentum of waves, some big, some small, to go with the flow. .
Being counterintuitive is often a short cut to success and in this case, it’s no different. We may have a vision, or a goal, but when we stick to the process and focus our energy on what we can actually change, not what we hope the result will be, we actually increase the likelihood of success. .
The practical path to riding waves is reminding ourselves that we are doing our best and whatever will happen will happen. Practicing meditation and becoming increasingly grounded helps us prepare to ride the waves. Not only does this help us accomplish as efficiently as possible, it also allows us to be more present, more fully alive, with gratitude for all of the simple gifts of life. When we ride the waves, we aren’t derailed by the unexpected and when we do fall, we get back up.
