JKLTip What do you want to do that you are putting off until you’re more ready? Just jump, now.
I’ve never jumped out of an airplane, don’t really plan on it, in fact kind thinking of it kind of makes me want to throw up, but never say never I suppose. To use jumping out of a plane as a concept is pretty straightforward. Every time you see it in a movie, or show it’s like someone doesn’t want to do it and is told “just jump” or better, someone gives them a good push and there is no turning back
The push would be fantastic. If we all had someone walking around with us pushing to do what they know we need and trusting that it will go fine. Surrounding ourselves with these people is a great strategy to building confidence quickly and jumping as soon as, or better, before we’re ready. The more of us jumping together the better, but sometimes we need to know how to jump alone
The parachute is the only thing we need, it’s what keeps us safe. Once we have it, once risk is reduced, it’s strapped on, it’s time to fly. We can always try to get more ready, but we’ll never get to a point that we can be so ready that nothing could possibly go wrong. We can never be prepared enough that we can predict the best outcome. It’s best we just jump
I’ve built a reputation as a coach for developing people exponentially beyond their peers. People watching begin to think my students are “over achieving” but all they needed was what I thought was common sense. What I have learned though, is it’s far from common. The secret to developing effectively, to “overachieving” is pushing them to jump in. It’s getting as close to live fire, as close to game simulation, or the end goal as possible. Make sure everyone has their parachute and then just jump
