JKLTip Do some research about how to deal with change and then try to create little changes, seemingly for the sake of change, but because it will sparks new ideas, fresh perspectives and opportunities
Change & Cheese ????
If “all good things come to an end”, do “all bad things come to an end” too?
The fans of sports teams long awaiting the end of a drought, or people deeply entrenched in a battle with mental illness sure hope so
.
Whether things “always” come to an end or not is debatable. What can not be debated, is that change in some form or another is inevitable. Naturally, we think of change in a negative light, but for those comfortable, perhaps change is the gambit we must employ. That isn’t to say it is easy, in fact it may be excruciatingly difficult. A willingness to settle however, is the reason so few are willing to be great
.
“Good”, well that’s easy, but “Great” takes commitment; a decision and follow through. It’s simple to think, “this is good enough, or convenient, maybe comfortable, so why do anything more?” The question is what do you want? What is your “cheese”? .
There is nothing wrong with an individual truly satisfied for having accomplished all they care about, as simple or complex as it may be, but let’s be honest, what organization, or person just given the straight up choice between “shitty” “ok” “good” or “great”, all things being equal would pick the former !?
.
Let’s throw out the notion of being great and just say if you want to improve, then one of the quickest ways is increasing your tool box for dealing with change. Instead of worrying about “what ifs”, instead of taking your sweet time thinking “how things should be” – recognize the peace of mind that comes with just being such a tiny fragment of this universe, with just trying the next way and going with whatever flow that is
