Baby Steps

JKL Tip Think of the feeling you had about a goal, or change recently that hasn’t gone as envisioned. What do you think is the maximum guaranteed step you could make, doesn’t matter how “small” it seems. Just do that with extreme vigor and vitality


Was so hard to think of a caption for this video… Joking, obviously it has to be Baby Steps.
I hope this concept resonates with you today on your journey, to wherever you are headed.
When we strive toward self realization, reaching goals, or self improvement it’s easy to get buried under the notion that there is so much to do. .
It’s about this time of year that air leaks, or explodes out of the tires of our “new year’s resolutions” and many people give up. I’m feeling it big time right now as I had hoped to publish my first JKL Video by now.
To keep it simple, it wasn’t meant to be. Who cares, move on. But how should we move on?
Well, ignore the cultural default to use the calendar and realize we should grow, learn,  and improve just like a baby. When learning to walk, talk and eat, babies get hyper focused on only one thing at a time. They also learn in very short, but committed and energetic bursts. .
So, if coming into the new year you were going to eat only whole foods, finish a novel and workout every single day, then perhaps we need to put baby steps into practice.
It’s ok to stick with those goals, but let’s create next steps to something like eat two whole food days/week, write 3,000 words per week and workout 3 times per week.
Babies are also great at stumbling back a stair or two, getting some support and then starting that climb again without being too hard on themselves. So, whether you’ve had a major, or minor setback today, you will soon be able to take one step back in the right direction
